Keys to the house
Książnica Kopernikańska, październik 2022
In children's language, ‘home’ is a word that describes a building, something that rises above the surface of the earth, has a roof, windows and doors. It is also a place where one lives, grows, where one return...s, where one experiences good and difficult moments. In order to enter a house, we need a key that opens the door to what is material, that allows us to enter the rooms, the kitchen, the bathroom, but also allows us to feel the scent, the atmosphere, the presence. This everyday, oft-repeated activity like entering a house in the context of war, of life's difficulties, can be unattainable: sometimes there are no keys, sometimes there are keys, but you can't use them...in the world of creation and art, you can do more - you can at least try to connect the key with the house.
The workshop was aimed at primary school children; on the one hand, it was meant to be an opportunity for artistic work that goes beyond the format of a school bench and a sheet of paper from the block; on the other hand, it is meant to be a pretext to reflect on home and the lack of it.
