The Void is my personal space – literally and metaphorically made-to-measure. It’s an accurate construction, a cocoon isolating me from the rest of the world, an attempt to mark my own place in the gallery space. The Void also underlines the opposition between an individual and a group/surroundings/the audience. In this work I examine my own capabilities, checking whether the place I created is really as comfortable as it initially seemed to be. I allow others to take a look at the space I created, I allow them to peek at my idleness. Thus, I’m encouraging a creation from of voyeurism, which becomes more and more apparent in pop culture. Voyerism, however, usually coincides with vulgarity and satisfying one’s unhealthy curiousity. This project was created in opposition to such trends, showing only a tiny little bit of myslef.
